The beneficial properties of milk thistle oil have been known for a very long time. It was
used even by the ancient Romans to treat diseases of the stomach and intestines; Europeans treated cirrhosis of the liver and hepatitis with the oil, and in India it was used by healers to treat practically all the diseases known at that time.

Milk thistle is truly a unique plant that can be used both for the treatment and for the prevention of a very wide spectrum of diseases.

    Digestive system

The main active substance of milk thistle, not found in any other plant, is silymarin. Silymarin is a powerful antioxidant. Firstly, it strengthens cell membranes; secondly, it regenerates liver cells damaged by toxins, fatty food and alcohol. Silymarin protects against the destructive action of free radicals, improves the detoxifying function of the liver and accelerates metabolic processes in it. Using milk thistle oil helps to combat such serious ailments as cirrhosis, hepatitis, biliary dyskinesia, cholelithiasis and damage to the liver from toxins.

    Endocrine system

It is recommended to include milk thistle oil in the diet of people with an elevated blood sugar level, as well as in cases of hereditary predispositions, for the prevention of the onset of diabetes.
Active ingredients – zinc, selenium, magnesium – are able to stimulate the production of insulin by the pancreas.

    Cardiovascular system

Milk thistle oil is also effectively used in the comprehensive treatment of diseases of the heart and the vascular system. Practically all heart diseases, such as heart attack, hypertension and ischemia, provoke atherosclerosis. Its appearance can be prevented by milk thistle oil, whose use promotes the strengthening of the vessel walls, the improvement of their elasticity and the maintenance of proper blood clotting
